Situated on 10 beautiful acres in the scenic Hudson Valley. The workshop will be limited to 12 students only. The programs will consist of intensive 5-day morning drawing class and afternoon painting class with models, both indoors and out.* The curriculum will center on the figure and also specifically portraiture, but no area of pictorial concern is excluded. All mediums will be welcome (pastel, acrylics, w/c, etc.). Landscape opportunities are also available both on the property as well as for the more adventurous souls, at places nearby.
Where: The studio is located 60 miles north of New York City and about 10 miles from the Hudson River. It is most conveniently accessible by car (though rail travel from NY on the Central Hudson Commuter line is available). There will be people attending the workshop who have cars and with whom one can share a ride. Commuting is possible though not advised since a full days involvement is enough to do without commuting. Full directions will be made available upon signing up. If you have transportation difficulties please inform us and we will try to assist you. For those who wish to Google our location, the workshop address is:
31 Blueberry Lane
Stormville, NY 12582
#(845) 221-4119
Class Hours: A full 6 hours from 9:30 AM to 12:30 and 2 to 5 PM. The morning classes are in drawing only with the afternoon for painting in all mediums. Class size will be limited to 12 people on a first come basis.
Tuition: Workshop cost will be announced by March 1, 2010.
Accommodations: The Inn at Arbor Ridge (845-227-7700) is a nice motel located about 3 miles from the studio and has modestly decent accommodations at very reasonable rates. The motel recently remodeled with new carpet, bedding, paint, etc. There is a Tex-Mex restaurant next door along with other decent eating places all over the area. The Silverman Studio has a pool on the property for all who wish to relax after class, so bring a suit just in case.
